# Record decision

> Record a decision in a running meeting, optionally with decision makers, the agenda item and a closed poll.

Records a new `VALID` decision. Decisions are recorded only while the meeting runs; otherwise the
call returns `409 MEETING_NOT_RUNNING`. A meeting holds up to 300 decisions.

To record a poll's result, pass the poll's `id` as `pollId`. The poll must be closed and belong to
the same meeting; each result can be recorded once, and a second attempt returns `409 CONFLICT`.

<ParamField body="personIds" type="string[]" default="[]">Decision makers, up to 50. Each must be invited to the meeting.</ParamField>
<ParamField body="pollId" type="string | null" default="null">A closed [poll](/docs/api/meetings/polls/list-polls) of this meeting whose result the decision records. Each poll's result can be recorded once.</ParamField>
