# Close meeting

> End a running meeting: it becomes read-only, open polls close and the meeting note is queued.

Moves a running meeting to `CLOSED`. A running timer stops, polls still open close, linked work items
and pages are recorded as they stand, and the meeting note is queued. From here the meeting is
read-only until it is [reopened](/docs/api/meetings/lifecycle/reopen-meeting).

In a series, `carryItemIds` names the open agenda items handed on to the next occurrence. An empty
list hands on nothing. Without it, the next occurrence is prepared with every item left open.

The body is optional.
