# Close poll

> End voting in an open poll now; the result becomes visible and the poll never reopens.

Ends voting now and makes the result visible. An anonymous poll loses its secret, so its votes can no
longer be traced to anyone. A closed poll never reopens. A poll also closes on its deadline, and every
open poll closes when the meeting ends or is cancelled.

To record the result as a decision, pass the poll's `id` as `pollId` when you
[record a decision](/docs/api/meetings/decisions/record-decision).

  Scope `meetings:write`. Organizers and co-organizers, and participants too when the meeting lets them
  record outcomes. The meeting must not be closed or cancelled. No request body.
