# Remove a work item type from a project

> Stop offering a work item type in a project.

> Scope `projects:write`. Same rights and the same `409` for a template-linked project as when [offering a type](https://collabase.ch/docs/api/projects/offer-task-type.md).

## Response

Status `200` with `{ "removed": true }`. The type stays in the catalog; only the project stops offering it.

| Status | Code | When |
| - | - | - |
| `404` | `NOT_FOUND` | The project does not offer this type |
| `409` | `TASK_TYPE_IN_USE` | Work items of the project still carry the type; `error.details[0].params.count` says how many. Move them to another type first. |
| `409` | `LAST_TASK_TYPE` | A project keeps at least one type |
