# Notifications

> What the Collabase notification center shows, which events in pages and Spaces notify you, and which emails you get about your pages.

Collabase tells you about the things that need you: a mention, a task, a page someone shared with you. Notifications collect in the notification center at the top of the screen, and some also arrive by email.

<h2 id="notification-center">
  The notification center
</h2>

Click the bell (**Notifications**) at the top right of the screen. A number on the bell shows how many notifications you have not read.

| Control | What it does |
| - | - |
| **All** / **Unread** | Shows every notification, or only the unread ones |
| **Mark all as read** | Marks every notification as read |
| **Mark as read** | Marks one notification as read without opening it |
| Click a notification | Opens the page, work item or Space it is about and marks it as read |

The center shows your newest 50 notifications and checks for new ones every minute. An empty list shows **You're all caught up.**, or **No unread notifications** when the **Unread** filter is on.

<h2 id="triggers">
  What notifies you
</h2>

| Event | Notification | Also by email |
| - | - | - |
| Someone mentions you in a [comment on a page](/docs/docs/comments#mentions) | "mentioned you in a discussion" | Yes |
| Someone assigns you a to-do in a page by mentioning you in it, see [Assign a to-do](/docs/docs/comments#to-dos) | **Task Assigned** | No |
| Someone adds you to the access list of a [private folder](/docs/docs/page-restrictions#make-private) | **Page shared with you** | No |
| Someone suggests a change to a page you wrote, see [Suggestions](/docs/docs/suggestions) | A new suggestion | No |
| Someone adds you to a Space | **Added to Space** | No |
| You are invited to a meeting, the meeting changes or it is cancelled | An entry for each, with the calendar email as before | The calendar email, not a second one |
| Slack or Teams stops working | **The Slack connection stopped working** (administrators), **Check your Slack connection** (the person) | Administrators |
| A test run is assigned to you | **Test run assigned** | Yes |
| A test run you are assigned to is complete and cases failed | **Test run finished with failures** | Yes |
| Events in projects, such as a work item assigned to you or a comment on it | See [Tasks](/docs/projects/tasks) | Depends on the event |

Mentions in the running text of a page do not notify anyone. Use a comment or a to-do item when the person should react.

<h2 id="page-emails">
  Emails about your pages
</h2>

When someone else changes the content of a page you created, you receive an email with a link to the page. The email is sent in your preferred language.

Your administrator can switch this email off for the whole instance in the mail settings of the administration area. There is no personal setting for it in this version.

<h2 id="watching">
  Watching pages
</h2>

Collabase has no watch or follow function for single pages or Spaces in this version. You hear about a page when you created it, when you are mentioned in a comment or a to-do, when it is shared with you, or when someone suggests a change to it.

To keep important pages at hand, mark them as favorites, see [Pages](/docs/docs/pages#favorites).
