# Persistent storage

> Keep small values between runs and polls with the store: put, get and delete by key, per flow or for the whole workspace.

The store keeps small pieces of JSON that outlive a run. Triggers use it to remember where they stopped. Actions use it for counters, cursors and ids.

## Scopes

| Scope | Visible to |
| - | - |
| **Flow** (the default) | Only the flow that wrote the value. |
| **Workspace** | Every flow of the same automation workspace. Pass `StoreScope.PROJECT`. |

await context.store.put("tokenCache", { token }, StoreScope.PROJECT);
```

The scopes are separate: a key written in one scope is not found in the other. A value is never visible in another workspace.

## Limits

| Limit | Value |
| - | - |
| Size of one value | 512 KB |
| Length of a key | 256 characters |

Keep values small. A store is not a database. Keep records in [Tables](https://collabase.ch/docs/automation/tables.md) when people need to see or edit them.
