Set it up
The roadmap has its own page in the settings of the service project: open Settings and choose Roadmap.1
Under Scope, pick the Roadmap project and the Work item type whose work items appear.
2
Under Columns, add a column for each stage you want to show. Open a column to give it a name, a subtitle, an icon and a colour, and to choose the statuses it gathers. A work item in a status without a column does not appear.
3
Drag the grip of a column to change the order in which the columns appear.
4
Optionally write a Title and Subtitle for the roadmap page. Without them the portal shows its standard texts.
5
Select Save changes. The bar appears as soon as you change a title, a subtitle or a column.
- Card order sets how the cards are ordered inside a column: Most votes (the default), Newest, or Manual (board order), which follows the order of the work items on the board of the roadmap project.
- Visible by sets who may open the roadmap: customers with portal access, or everyone, also without signing in.
- Public fields releases fields of the work item type. Title and description are always shown; every other field stays hidden unless you release it here. The switch Show the start of the description on the card adds the first lines of the description to every card.
The roadmap shows nothing that is private elsewhere. A customer must have portal access (or the roadmap must be public) and can only see the entries, fields and descriptions released here.
Board and list
- Board shows the columns side by side, each with its status icon, name, number of entries and subtitle. A column loads 50 entries and more on demand. When more columns wait to the right, a round arrow scrolls the board.
- List shows all entries in one list, with the column of each entry.
- The row under the page title filters by column: choose All or one column. The search field looks for words in the title only.
Voting
- Every person has one vote per entry and can take it back.
- The portal shows how many votes an entry has and whether you voted yourself. It never shows who voted, nor their organization.
- Voting needs an account. On a public roadmap, visitors who are not signed in see the counts; the vote button leads them to sign in.
- People of your team who can open the roadmap project may vote too.
- Voting is limited to 30 votes or withdrawals per person and minute.
