Server deployment for your own infrastructure and the desktop client for your machines. Four installation paths, one product, the same instance.

Frequently asked questions

What does the server need at minimum?

A Linux server with Docker, two cores and 4 GB of memory. That comfortably supports up to 1000 people. The full list of requirements is in the documentation.

Which deployment route fits my environment?

All-in-One runs on a single server and is the fastest way to a working instance. Docker Swarm and the Helm chart suit teams already working with several nodes or with Kubernetes. The CLI installer sets up a fresh Linux server from scratch.

Does Collabase scale beyond a single server?

Yes. Running several instances adds shared object storage so they all reach the same files. Beyond roughly 6000 people we size the environment together with you.

Where does the data live?

On the infrastructure you operate yourself. Database, files and search index stay in your environment, with no telemetry and no channel back to us. That makes GDPR and Swiss DPA requirements easier to evidence.

Does the desktop client work offline?

No. It is a window onto your instance and stores nothing on the device. Sign-in opens your browser so single sign-on via Google, Microsoft Entra or SAML keeps working as usual.

How do updates reach the machines?

On Windows and Linux the client updates itself on exit. On macOS you install the new version by hand.
