The risk register lists what could go wrong in the projects of a Space, rated by probability and impact. Every risk sits on a 3 by 3 matrix, so the critical ones stand out. Each risk can name an owner, a project and the work item that handles it.

How it works

Risks are Registry Objects. The register reads them from one Object Type and maps its fields to the roles it needs:

Set up the register

1

Switch on the module

In Space Settings → Features, switch on Risks.
2

Connect a schema

Open the Space’s Risks page. Choose Create from template, which creates the Project Governance schema with risks, assumptions and decisions. Or accept the Suggested connection with Connect, or use Map fields yourself for a schema you already have.
3

Show risks in projects

In each project, switch on Risks under Settings → Project features. The project gets a Risks tab with its own risks. If the risk type has no project field yet, use Add project field.

Read the matrix

Risks without a rating are counted as … unrated. Filter the matrix with All projects or one project, and with Critical only. To re-rate a risk, drag it to another cell.

Record a risk

1

Start

Click Record risk.
2

Describe and rate it

Enter the Title (“What could go wrong?”), choose probability and impact, and optionally the owner, the project and the measure.
3

Link the measure

For the measure, search for an existing work item and pick it. The risk then shows Measure with the work item key. Create the work item first if it does not exist yet.
Recording a risk needs contributor rights on the risk schema in the Registry and the right to edit work items in the Space.
