AI in Automation is optional. Without an AI model, flows that use AI cannot be published, and everything else keeps working.

Two sources

Each AI step, the Agent and Ask the model, has its own Model setting. If the workspace’s provider is removed, steps that chose it fail. They never switch to the instance model on their own.

Set up a provider for the workspace

Workspace admins find the provider under Settings.
1

Choose the provider and the model

Pick the provider and enter the model name.
2

Enter the access

Add the API key and, where the provider needs it, an https address. The key is stored encrypted and never shown again.
3

Set a budget

Optionally enter a monthly token budget. When the workspace has used it, AI steps of the workspace stop with a message that says so.

How requests reach the provider

A plug of the sandbox cannot call a model on its own. AI steps run in Collabase, and the call to the provider goes out from there, so the key never leaves your instance. An address you enter must be public and use https.

Where the cost shows

The analytics page of the workspace shows agent steps and AI tokens. System administrators see all workspaces under Administration, Automation analytics.
