Every automation workspace has an MCP endpoint. An AI client that speaks MCP can list the workspace’s flows, start them, follow their runs and create drafts. It acts as the person who connected it.

The endpoint

The endpoint uses the same sign-in as the main MCP endpoint of Collabase. On first use, the client opens a browser window and asks you to sign in. After that it works with your rights, and nothing more.

Connect a client

1

Copy the address

Take the workspace id from the address of the workspace in Collabase and put it into the endpoint above.
2

Add it to the client

Add the address as an MCP server in the client’s settings, such as .cursor/mcp.json for Cursor or the connector settings of Claude.
3

Open the client and sign in to Collabase when it asks.

Tools

A viewer can read only. The tools never return connection values or variable values.

Release a flow for clients

A client may start only the flows you have released. Open a flow and switch on MCP clients may start in the toolbar. A flow that is not released answers a start with a refusal, even for an editor. Releasing and withdrawing a flow is recorded in the audit trail.

What a client cannot do

  • It cannot publish a flow or switch one on.
  • It cannot read the content of a connection or a variable.
  • It cannot reach another workspace than the one in the address.
