Each run keeps a record of what every step received and returned. When a flow does not do what you expect, the record tells you where it went wrong.

Find the run

1

Open the Runs tab

Open the automation workspace and select Runs. The list shows the newest run first. Filter by flow, by status or by date.
2

Open the run

Select a run. The page shows each step with its status: started, succeeded, failed or waiting.
3

Inspect a step

Select a step to see what it received and what it returned. A step that ran more than once shows each attempt. A failed step shows its message, and the run shows which step failed.
From the run, Open the flow takes you to the flow. Runs that started from the editor are marked Test, runs of the live flow Production.

Statuses

Test one step again

You do not have to run the whole flow to check a change. Open a step of the draft, go to Test and select Test step. The step runs once with the saved results of the steps before it. The test runs the step for real, so a step that creates something creates it again. The result is saved and feeds the data picker.

Retry a run

Select Retry on a run, or tick several runs and select Retry selected. Choose where to start:
  • The failed step, with the outputs of the steps before it. Use this when the cause was outside the flow.
  • The start, with the same trigger data. Use this after you changed the flow.
Then choose the version: the published version or the version the run used. The original run stays as it is, and the retry is a new run marked retry.

Cancel a run

Select Cancel run on a run that is going. It stops at its next step. Steps that already ran stay done.

Common causes

A flow that fails 10 times in a row is switched off, and the editors and admins of the workspace are told.
