Trigger
The trigger is the starting point of a flow. It sets how often the flow runs and what data the first step gets. Collabase offers these triggers, and Triggers describes each one:- an event in a Collabase app, such as a new work item or an updated page,
- a call to the flow’s webhook address,
- a schedule,
- a chat message from the flow’s chat page,
- another flow that calls it, or the failure of another flow,
- an event or a poll of a plug that was installed by an administrator.
Steps
A step does one thing. You pick it from the step list, which is sorted by plug.
Select Add step or the
+ between two steps, search the list and choose an action. A step whose plug is not installed is marked Not installed. A system administrator can install the plug from the step list.
What a step needs
Every step shows its inputs in the Inputs tab. Fill each input with a typed value, or with data from an earlier step. Step inputs explains the field types, and Passing data explains how to use earlier results. A step of a plug that signs in to another system also needs a connection. What happens when a step fails
By default a failed step ends the run. Open the Errors tab of a step to change that:Draft and published version
You always change the draft. Runs use the published version, so editing never affects a flow that is running. Select Publish when the draft is complete. See Publishing flows and Version history. Only one person edits a draft at a time. The editor shows who holds it, and another editor can take over after the lock has expired. How a run works
Each time the trigger fires, Collabase starts a run of the published version. The run walks through the steps in order, writes the result of every step to the run’s log and finishes as Succeeded, Failed, Cancelled or Timed out. A run that waits for a delay, a call or an approval is Paused and holds no resources. See Runs and approvals.Next steps
