The board shows what is happening now. The backlog holds what comes next. Together they cover day-to-day work and planning.

The board

The board is the default view of every project. Each column is a status in the project’s workflow, and each card is a task.
  • Drag a card to another column to change the task’s status.
  • Click a card to open the task.
  • Click a column header to collapse the column.
  • Use My Tasks in the toolbar to see only your own tasks, or Unassigned to find work nobody has picked up.
The board can also group tasks into horizontal swimlanes, for example by assignee or priority. Set this up under Board Settings (the gear icon at the top right of the board).

The backlog

The backlog lists every task that is not in a sprint. The order of the list is the priority: the tasks at the top are the first candidates for the next sprint. Drag tasks up or down to reorder them.
